People are always asking us how we keep our skin so clear and youthful. Well I’m about to let you in on our little secret, which really isn’t a secret at all: It all starts with a routine!
Every morning and every night I cleanse my face. Start by selecting a cleanser best for your skin type. If you don’t know, refer to this article Beauty Secrets. Apply a small amount of cleanser of your choice in the palm of your hand and apply to your face in circular motion for about 30 seconds. Thoroughly cleansing your face twice a day helps prevent dirt from getting into your pores and causing blemishes or acne.
About 2 times a week, after I cleanse I exfoliate my face with Eminence’s Pear and poppy seed microderm polisher. Exfoliating regularly removes the hard keratin layer build up and keeps your skin looking clear and smooth. It can also assist in minimizing fine lines, wrinkles and flaky skin.
After I exfoliate, about once a week, I use a vitamin rich mask to help increase elasticity, hydration and treat any skin condition that may arise. Apply a thin layer to your entire face and leave on for about 5-10 mins. One of the masks I love to use is our Eight Greens Phyto mask; it attacks hormonal acne and is a power house of antioxidants.
At night after cleansing I use a serum to treat any specific problems such as acne and age prevention. Apply a thin layer and leave on. Serums are an awesome way to treat and protect your skin because their molecules are smaller and can penetrate deep into your epidermis, providing faster results.
Then last but not least, and is viewed to some as most important, Moisturize! Hydrating our face and eyes is vital to healthy skin. Apply a pea size of your favorite moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin (like me) it is still important to moisturize every day to ensure your skin stays healthy. Moisturizers are packed with vitamins and antioxidants that are important to keep our skin soft, supple and nurtured.
Everyone’s skin is different so this regime may not be for you. If you have any specific skin concerns you may want to talk to your esthetician so she can customize a great at home routine that is right for you.
